My name is Asbah Imran, and I am a student in the Science Research Program at Yorktown High School in Yorktown Heights, New York.

Purpose of the Study:

This study examines how students perceive and evaluate AI-generated academic feedback. Participants will interact with an AI chatbot, respond to questions about their academic experiences and study habits, review AI-generated feedback/advice, and complete a brief questionnaire about their experience.

Requirements:

You must be 18 years of age or older and currently enrolled as a high school or college student to participate.

What You Will Do:

  • Interact with an AI chatbot.
  • Answer questions about your academic experiences, study habits, and learning behaviors.
  • Review AI-generated academic advice.
  • Complete a brief post-study questionnaire.

Time Required:

Approximately 20โ€“25 minutes.

Potential Risks:

This study involves minimal risk. Some participants may experience mild discomfort when reflecting on academic experiences, study habits, or feedback received during the study. You may discontinue participation at any time without penalty.

Voluntary Participation:

Participation is completely voluntary. You may withdraw from the study at any time without penalty.

Confidentiality:

Your responses are anonymous. No names, email addresses, or other identifying information will be collected aside from your current education level (High School Student (18+), College Undergraduate, or Graduate Student). Data will be securely stored and used only for research purposes. While reasonable measures will be taken to protect collected data, all online data collection carries a small risk of security breaches.

Additional Information: Some aspects of the study cannot be fully explained before participation because doing so could influence the results. A full explanation of the study's purpose and procedures will be provided at the conclusion of the study.
